Bethany Maxwell
……….Hello! I am an EMT, biologist, writer, and artist living in the Greater Seattle area. I was born and raised in rural Southwest Colorado and grew up on fresh air and expansive, relatively untouched, public lands. My weekends were filled with wandering in the desert, climbing mountains, bushwacking through forests, and splashing in rivers. I essentially had a backyard filled with diverse biomes I could explore whenever I pleased. To be a bit cliché, a love for nature runs in my veins.
……….Nature is where I feel the most at home and where I get the majority of my inspiration and guidance for my writing and fine art. It is also home to the wildlife that is my favorite subject to photograph. I have had countless hobbies throughout my life, but these three have been faultlessly present no matter where I am in life.
……….From Colorado I moved to the Seattle area in 2020. In between I have spent time in 12 countries and numerous US States. I have had experiences from interning at Brookfield Zoo to completing a year-long autopsy technician internship in Denver, CO. From stocking the shelves at a Michaels craft store at 3am to responding to motor vehicle accidents at 3am. From the tops of 14ers and volcanos to being lost out of bountaries in a snow storm at Telluride ski area. Through every experience three things are always true; I learn, I create, and I grow.
